Wilcox/Robinson Lake area Wabasha backwaters ice?

    Anyone know if the Wilcox Access is still iced in?

    I don’t think its open just yet. Won’t be long thou. I know the fishing in there was dreadful last winter and getting around to the river is tough now too with a boat. Maybe not now with a foot or two of extra water but when it goes back to normal pool level things won’t be nice.

    It was still iced in on Saturday…and like CT said, the fishing was terrible. I never had a nibble. Was a solid 10″ in the first bay. I didn’t try the channel. Ice along the shore was thin but looked solid in the middle. I have my doubts if it would be open by the weekend but with 70’s today…maybe.

    If the panfish are not biting that means less panfisherman to deal with why I am looking for Bowfin when the ice goes out.
