Went over on 694 this morning, was locked up. Went over 2 hours ago, 90% open. Not really fishable from shore yet, but it is getting there!
Free flowing up in the islands in Fridley as well!
This weekend I’m fishing somewhere over there. Waders and an axe will have their way
If you end up out by the 694 ramp or the one upriver could you let me know if either one is usable? I plan on swapping my sleds and wheeler out for the boat this weekend. I would like to get the boat wet before heading to pool 4.

For sure. I’m sure the 81st will open first, wish the Camden one would too. Found most cats schooled up in the deeper sections south of there. Although that deep hole across from 81st might be holding fish too, what kind IDK.
I drive across 694 every day. I’ll let you know what I see around the ramp.
If you need a set of eyes up front for ice chunks I might be able to help with that Sunday for a bit, or at least shovel the access.
I went over the Camden Bridge today and looked like lots of open water in the channel, still ice holding on the shores, also went over 610/252 looked to be more open up there.

I doubt I will get home in time to get out Sunday but will be trying to make it out in the beginning of the week.
A extra set of eyes is always good. I would hate to accidentally miss one. You get some funny looks when you start running over them on pool 4 in the spring.
Soon I can head to the CR dam to fish. I know the dam is probably open, but I fish slightly south of there.

I’ll be checking that maybe Omw home tonight. I’ll let you know. The ice shelfs around there were thick as ell and the side channel on the west side was starting to flow more water. I wonder when they are going to change the flow to the east side, the west 5 bladders were deflated with only flow coming out the one closest to the retaining wall on west. That will get the flow moving good and the fish are going to be like WTF!
Welp, I drove by 694 today and there is still snow on the ramp, the parking lot is not plowed, and it looks like the road down there is not open yet.
As soon as most or all of the snow is gone and there is nothing on the banks, it’s going to be sucker time! Break out the ultra light
Might take a walk down by the river on the Fridley side tomorrow as it is 2 blocks from my house. I can see the BP ramp from there and will report on that.
The bp ramp is a no go for awhile. Shore ice and 2′ of snow down by the water.
Has anyone checked Boom Island? That’s a really nice ramp, but I could see the little harbor still being pure ice..
Camden?
Boom island is still locked tight, and the Camden launch would be good to go only about 20min worth of shoveling from the snow pile that was plowed through winter. Only 3′ tall. Lot and behind the snow ramp is clear.
They opened up the right side, be interesting to see how this spring plays out with the construction. Ice shelf is almost gone, and evidence of corning carp was was present down by the shoreline. Bring on spring!
I saw tire tracks in the lot at the 694 ramp today, so for all intents and purposes, that looks to be open.
If I remember sometime this week, I’m emailing the head of the construction company doing the work on the dam, and seeing what they are doing to preserve the spawning habitat in which they are working on.
