Skip on down to the last couple pages where the have an aerial view of the jetty as it is now and the proposed addition.
I’ve been boating around the upstream side but this wouldn’t work if this extension is approved.
I can understand the need to close that in. Hope they dredge out a cut on the east tip of that thing. Current will probably take care of it.

Although it wasn’t in the illustration, the text talked about dredging out the area in front of the docks for mooring.
There’s going to be an awesome current seam on the back side of that jetty!
Oh crap. Did I just say that out loud?? 
The last time I was down there you couldn’t get out of the current no matter where you went. Will it be deep enough to go around the other side now?
It’s pretty consistently 8-10 feet deep all along the upstream side of the jetty the way it is now. It drops off fast and there’s a big current there. But it really shallows up quick off the downstream eastern tip. I’m guessing the eastern tip would scour out much more going downstream once the western side of the jetty is closed.
The story says they’re going to ship the fill material in there by barge. Wouldn’t want to be the one responsible for navigating that thing.
Am still curious how this project will turn out. The last I saw they were going to start this in 2013 but looks like it’s pushed out to this year.
I heard it was still a go. The Pool #3 Islands that is.
It’s been pretty quiet though. Then it’s on to P-2.
