First let me start by saying I am an elecrtical idiot. With that being said here is my quesion. I own a 89 Tracker 17′ fish ski, she has run perfectly until last season. It started as a “buzzing” noise in what seemed to be the ignition area and then I lost 3 of my guages at once. Tack, Tilt/trim, and Fule. The boat still runs fine. Then a few weeks later the rest went out. Now I seem to have juice up to the tack cause when I touch ground to hot I get the light on my tester to work. It is really a son-of-a-gun to even get to the darn things. wires everywhere! Why would I loose all 3 at the same time? Cannot find a fuse or anything, Are some of these run in a series? How would I know if the guages are fryed or not? What the hell am I missing? HELP any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks Haywood

I just finished with an electrical nightmare. Little different though, someone once hot-wired the boat to take it for a ride.

After I got the skamatics(spelling?) from the Manufactures, I did all that I could myself. Still blowing fuses and guages not working, I took it to a dealer. At $65.00 / hour I choke and bit the bullet. He figured 2-3 hours….8 hours later he found the ignition switch had a short and was causing most of the problems. So nearly 10 hours and $115.00 switch later, everything works perfctly (except my mariage and checking account LOL)

But from you have explained, I would have the switch ested also. All you guages power or feed from the switch or engine harness.
