I have always run berkley XT but m curious if anyone else has found better mono i was going to run spiderwire but am a little low on money at the moment. Any advise would be appreciated. Hope o see everyone on the water soon

I’d spend the money on spiderwire. It will save you money on lost cranks. Check out Dustin’s product review

I agree. Spend the extra cash. If you are REALLY low on cash, then only load 75-100 feet or so on a reel and leave a big mono backing. W/ a superline, you wont break off or need to retie as often either. It pays for itself.

I have tried the whiplash super braid and for the money its worth it. It comes in 30lb test at 6lb dia. and if I remmeber correctly you get twice as much line then the others. It is made by berkly and was going to be the next generation fireline but then fireline hit big. But if mono is all you can afford take a few extra dollars and purchase some titanium wire leaders. they are small in dia. and walleyes dont seem to mind them at all. good luck and just my 2 100th of a buck.

I normally run 6/14 fireline when fishing on the river. However, 10lb XT should do just fine if you have to run mono.

I’ve never tried the gorilla braid… but I thought they stopped making that product some time ago. Could be wrong but I know I haven’t seen it on the shelevs in quite some time.

Or am I just conditioned to not look anymore…?
