Fun area to fish. Lots of Smallmouth, Channel Cats, roughfish, and the occasional Muskie. It does get shallow in some stretches so be careful out there. Fishing this time of year slows down, but the deeper water areas will be holding fish. Small sucker minnows should produce some nice smallies, channels, and maybe a walleye or two. Good luck!

    Hi,

Seconding caution in that area as there are a lot of submerged hazards (not to mention the characters you might run into at that ramp!).

We fish cats in that stretch quite a bit, but usually launch out of Boom Island Park.

The navigation channel starts about at the Camden bridge. Plenty of deep water all the way south of there. Nice smallies and channels in the area. Shore spots are hard to come by nowadays. Fun suckers in shingle come spring time, #6 hook and worm you can get buffalo, sheep head, quillback, occasional smallie, channel cat. It is in the city, but my many times down there I have never had a problem. And especially nowadays remember the ghettos dont like the cold
