Pool 2 – 494 Access

The dock has been removed, as well as the outhouse.

It was a cold dreary night on Pool 2 with a lot of wind. It was an “interesting” experience getting the boat on the trailer. If you were driving over the Wakota Bridge tonight around 6PM I apologize for the language.

A strong south wind and low light there can be frustrating to land a boat at that access. Good to see they fixed the light at the launch turnaround though. Fish were biting last night, but they were the wrong size except for the one that came unbuckled a little premature. Another boat was close enough to hear my language on that one. Sorry about that.

    Special Regulation:

Pool 2 is open to year around fishing. Fishing for walleye, sauger, largemouth bass and smallmouth bass is restricted to catch and release only. All walleye, sauger, largemouth bass and smallmouth bass must be returned to the water immediately.

Looks like you can take slimers home with you.

Just to be clear….special regs (year long C&R on walleyes, saugers, Largemouth and Smallmouth Bass) and on everything else normal inland regs apply.

I’m sure you could sneak a few out and nobody would know.

Catch it in P2, release it in the grease.

    Just joking of course!

A couple of years I referred to a smaller Walleye caught on P2 as an “eater”….not that I would ever poach a fish out of Pool 2 and eat it, however it was a 16-17 inch Walleye that would have been perfect for the pan. Boy did I hear about that…there are no “eaters” in Pool 2!

I wouldn’t eat anything out of that pool after the things I have seen and smelled there.
