Well, with no school yesterday I figured it was a great excuse to take my son out to the river and see if we couldn’t find some fish. Also give him a chance to stop in at Everts and look around. It was nice to finally meet Steve, though, sadly, we did not get to meet the famed BK. We looked hard for some walleye/sauger but didn’t have much luck there other than some tiny ones. Did manage a few crappie for the frying pan, though. And halfway through the day my son figured all that jigging tired him out so it was nap time. Good luck at Saugerama. Wish I could provide tips, but didn’t stumble across any. Hope to get out again next week.

Some people might say you had an excellent day…because you didn’t meet me.

I was busy preparing the ingredients for the Bacon Wrapped Jalapeno Spam for tomorrow once I arrived at 7pm.

I spoke with Jason Pitts and he was going off about all the fish he caught. Keep in mind he’s an IA tourney fishermen.

    We’ll hook up sometime Shock…no, that wasn’t a threat.

How many times have I seen that sight? That fresh air really takes it out of the kids.

    Hope so, BK.

And yeah, I’m sure if only I had done X we woulda slaughtered them wily eyes. If I had a faster boat, I’d tail Jason. Heh.

Can’t complain about a few nice crappies and a nice day, though. I will say the crappies sure don’t seem as schooled up this time of year as the last couple of years.
