I was lookin’ for info on the river this week before I went out. I called marinas and guides and got mixed reports. I decided to call the Army Corp of Engineers and this website was on their recording:

    water.mvr.usace.army.mil

This site has what you need to know about the Mississippi before you go out! There’s also info about other rivers around the region. This is info from the Rock Island District which, to my surprise, covers a very large area. If you’re not in this area I encourage you to find the Army Corps of Engineers website for your area. You will not be disapointed.

Hey Ice, nice to see another Illini guy here. I’ve been using that site for a few years. Really helps formulate a game plan before hitting the water, with temp, flow, and forcast, as well as rising or dropping. Lots of good info to get you started before hitting the water.

I plan on using that site from now on. I see you’re listed as NW Ill. Do you fish pool 13 much? If so, when do you want to hook up to catch some crappies?
