With the weather calling for being cold ,windy and rain I still took my boat with us to Everts this weekend but due to the weather I just never had the desire to go out in the boat.

The Fw and I did alot of fishing from shore and the docks instead, targeting anything the would take the bait.

I started out with jig and fathead and got alot of takers ,but only 2 walleyes and 3 saugers(all short) for my targeted species all weekend, but let me tell the sheephead were hungry and on fire.

At one point I got so bored with them I decided to start casting and jigging back a one-eye jig and I wasnt disappointed,I managed a nice pike around 24″-28″(released)and put the smack down on the sheephead. It was a hoot to catch fish like the way I was using the one-eye jig.

While I was dock fishing I would talk to the boaters trolling by and check with them to see how they were doing,All said it was slow, except for a couple of boats that fish south they said had caught some keepers.

I think we all cant wait for some better weather and stable water conditions to kick the walleye fishing in.

Either way it was fun to catch some fish and make the best of gloomy weekend.

Sounds like fun Jeff despite the conditions. Funny thing when I was there 2 weeks ago we did better from shore than anywhere else we tried too. Maybe it is the effluent from Bk’s trailer….

Got a spot on pool 2 where I beach the front of the boat and just cast off the back end. Caught a few walleyes and small mouth that way on saturday. Sometimes its nice to just sit and not have to worry about the boat control.

He can’t. I have enough ammo to return fire for a few months!

I’m a little surprise there weren’t more eyes along the ramp seams as there has in the past Jeff.

I will be nice to BK for awhile he does have ammo. So I will be nice for awhile until he forgets. That shouldn’t take to long at his age.

I was just thinking, I like the display name “whif” much better then “chirp”.

Much easier to remember at my age.

Rock and his friends were fishing more towards the upper end of the beach.

    But fish are fish.

Same here. I tossed out a worm and leaned the rod on a tree yesterday morning to catch two suckers while my dog played. An enjoyable 45 minutes.
