Conflicts at two recreational boating spots and administrative delays again have led natural resource agencies to cancel a proposed water level drawdown for Pool 6. Agencies planned to draw down the pool, which is from Winona to Trempealeau, Wis., last summer but canceled it when managers of Prairie Island Campground in Winona and Play-Mor Campground near Homer, Minn., complained that recreational boaters would have trouble navigating low spots near their enterprises, Also pool 5 is schduled to be drawn down in 2005.
this was put out by the daily news in winona,
Fishing on pool 6 has been somewhat slow talking to other fishermen that have been out, some suagers have been being taken where straight slough runs into barge fleeting, and the largemouth and northerns are being caught in the Winona boat club and near the sunken barges on spinnerbaits, yellow Tornado spinnerbaits have work the best for me in those spots. the Water is supposed to crest on sunday at around 11 feet, be careful there seems to be alot of debri floating especaially this evening. I will be out all weekend so give me a wave, if you have any questions I can help you with.
