What type of line should I pull for long line trolling…mono, low stretch mono or Fireline.

For pulling plugs for suspended fish, an abrasion resistant mono like Trilene XT OR the super lines work great. If you’ll be banging bottom and picking up debris making a very sensitive and strong line a must, I’d suggest a super line like Fireline, SpiderWire, or PowerPro… my favorite being Spiderwire.

    Quicksilver,

I like the power pro and spiderwire in 30lb test and 10 lb. Trilene XT mono. Power pro is cheaper than fireline or spiderwire, but I haven’t decided which I like better yet. Brian

hi Quicksilver, for long line trolling I’d use 10# Fireline, and put it on a 27LC Diawa line counter, and an 8-81/2 ft light tip trolling rod. the line counter lets you put the lure in the exact same position and distance everytime. this is a trolling only combo. Jack.
