All this talk of Pool 2, 4, 9 ,etc. and I have no idea where each pool is. I looked at the MN DNR site and they don’t seem to break the river down into pools. Can anyone direct me to a map of the M. River so I can know where the pools are?

The DNR just updated their booklet; Boating and Fishing the Mississippi which contains maps and other great information. I’m going to pick some up at their La Crosse office this week. If you would like, I can send you a copy. They’re free.
