Although the bite may have been rather slow this Friday evening, P4 still put out! KWP and I arrived at Evert’s around 7pm, I was amazed by the numerous trailers on the beach and the boats in the water… Anyway, a few casts in up by the dam, I landed a 19″ walleye with my new Avid and Sahara setup, which is amazing! A bit later, KWP and I landed a few walleye and pike. Until around 930pm, I hooked into what I thought may have been a log, until it decided to blast off under the boat and towards the main channel. Line was peeling off the spool and I didn’t seem to gain any line on whatever it might be… A few minutes later, we had our first glance of a beastly pike! Quickly, KWP scooped it in the net, which it barely fit in and dwarfed it! Putting a tape to it, she measured a solid 38 inches! This pike beat my pb, which was 35 inches. After taking care of her, photographing and releasing, and trying to tend to the nasty cut she left on my finger, not much else happened for the night. Although few fish were caught, the trip was awesome! The bite might be slow for some, don’t let that keep you off the water, this is one of the best times of the year. There are many big fish to be caught! Get down to Evert’s and get your boat in the water!

I want to thank the guys from Iowa, who gave me a towel and first aide supplies to clean up my finger. Also, enjoy the rest of your time up here!

Nicely done… My boat was also slow, With a bad break in there. I landed a 23″ Walleye, and then 3 or 4 quick ones and then nothing. Then as night time fell, we started dragging.1 FISH!Then it happened. Lost all my graphs and everything except trolling motor and lights. Dead battery! Good thing we were up stream! Nice Gator Corey!

I have heard some horror stories about catching big cats while Walleye fishing in that area and I am glad it was a PB Pike instead !

    Again congrats on the PB

Even though the Walleye fishing was a little slow it was sure fun to see that big Northern caught. That was the biggest Northern I have ever seen and took both arms and alot of effort for me to even lift it in the boat. Hard to tell what is weighed but with its girth I would guess it weighed 16 to 17 lbs (maybe more??).

Sure hope your finger gets better.

Nice fish! You guys are hardcore. We talked to you just before we came in. I think you guys were one of the last boats out. We had similar results(except for the huge pike and bleeding)
