    Dear Mississippi Makeover Citizen Advisory Group Members:

    You won’t want to miss this event Monday evening in Hastings! The State of the River Report Presentation will shed light on the current conditions in the Mississippi River and look at how we got here. The presentation will cover a variety of parameters and will concentrate on some important indicators identified through the Mississippi Makeover Project.

    The event is free and open to the public, but pre-registration is requested. Please email or call me to register. The event agenda is attached and noted below.

    The State of the River Report is presented by Friends of the Mississippi River and the National Park Service and zooms in on the status and trends of 13 key indicators of river health, highlighting the swimming, fishing, aquatic life and emerging contamination issues facing the river—as well as priority solutions in each area.     This presentation was recently given in Rochester. It was actually very positive. Out of the 14 main river environmental health factors 10 of them have gotten better such as water clarity and quality. They also presented about the other 4 that are and will be looming concerns such as AIS, Stream bank erosion etc. Very great presentation. Highly recommmend going.
