OK, so I’ve been tossing my “slime rags”, a.k.a., fishing towels, into a 5 gallon bucket in the garage filled with water and chlorine bleach for the past 3-4 weeks. I usually try to rinse them out and sneak them into the weekly laundry when the FY isn’t looking, didn’t work this time. She came out in the garage today and was not happy. I was wondering how/what the rest of the IDO group does with their fishing rags? What do you use? I’m trying to reuse the old dish towels, etc…..

I just sneak them back into BK’s T-shirt drawer and he never knows the difference.

I buy the box of rags at menards, and when they get too gross, I toss ’em in the trash.

After boat rag duty, they are garage duty. Greese, oil, dirt. Then they hit the trash.

I keep anywhere from 2-4 out an about in the boat at all times. When one or two of them stink enough, they all go in the washing machine. Nothing else but the fish towels.
They come out smelling just fine and get put back in the boat.
I probably carry anywhere from 6 to a dozen in my boat at any one time.
When the fish are biting, this can be every week. At other times of the year, once every two or three weeks.

I thought shorts were for wiping your hands on.

If you lip all your fish you don’t need a towel to wipe on.

Not to sound like a smart [censored] but I rinse my hands in the lake after handling fish so all I need the boat towel for is to dry wet hands. Never gets too smelly for just that. I havent smelled it yet this year.
