This shot was taken on one of the roads close to Hager City. Someone said I should have cut off the rattler to get the beads. My thought was to leave dead snakes lie.

Glad we haven’t seen any of these down at the Resort!

Oy! I am never going to Everts again! Ok, I lied. At least I won’t be chasing down snakes I see like I normally do.

I think you have to find “Rattle Snake Alley” to have to worry about them Pug.

It’s closer to Hager City and the Bluff area.

PS I have a bag for you. Never mind the rattling it makes.

If you really want to see these timber rattlers, that old boat launch at Mr. Sippi’s Bar on 63 has PLENTY of them-no they aren’t bull snakes either. Saw a big one probably over 4 ft a few years ago. Gives me goosebumps!!! My grandpa has some land in Diamond Bluff and we see them on occasion there too

I think a 6/0 hook rigged whacky style and you’d be all set.

I had a largemouth just south of Evert’s (on the rock bar just south of the launch) barf up a baby bull snake last year. Actually caught on a black-blue fleck wacky rig, so they do eat them…but the rattler is more flathead sized. OH BK!!!!!

I bet they’d make a good cut bait. Just let it ripen there on the road for a couple days and hack it into nice big hunks.

Seriously, that thing gives me the creeps.

Jake are you sure they weren’t Fox Snakes? We see a number of them along the shore line when the water rises and flood the rocks. When I first saw one I thought is was a rattler too.

I’ve yet to see a rattler along the river. ‘course I’m not looking for them.

Fish puking up snakes? Another good reason to use a net!
