Hey guys. Wondering if anyone has recently been on Pepin and what the conditions are like with all the new water coming downstream. Hoping to head out there with my son this weekend. It appears like it’ll be up another foot by then. I assume potentially more debris in the water.

Well was out last night, water is really dirty had to fish above the dredge and the chippawa. I floated the rip rap just about half mile above camp lacupolis. Picked up a few walleyes and sauger in about 7-10 feet of water. few nice smallies. I was casting a 3 way (LOL 3 way) up to about 7feet and reeling it back, had to use light weight or it seemed to be dropping to fast. throwing crawlers.. hope this helps.. I am going hit the back waters tonight by alma to stay out of the current. Good Luck

sorry – I meant it to say “I am also waiting for a response to Pepin conditions.” I need more time for my coffee to sink in before posting.

Thanks for the info, guys. I was probably gonna try heading outta hoksila. I suppose one would just have to take it slow and be careful. I’ll keep watching for others to post, too. If it’s looking like there’s just too much debris etc., may have to cancel.

Went out of Hok-Si-La this morning. Water is dirty and there were a few logs floating. Other than that, not to much debris. And we even caught some walleyes and saugers.

Was out on Tuesday…lots of debris and more than a handful of deadheads. Dirty water, too, of course. Didn’t stop the bite though.

Drove down to Hok-Si-La tonight (Fri) and drove right back after seeing the floating log mine field as far a the eye could see. A couple others were braving it anyway but they have larger stones than me. Sturgeon Lake landing is completely under all the way back up the road to where the trees start. Hit Billesby instead which was in good shape but the no eyes were cooperating for me there.
