well.. nothing to do with fishing, but…… I have friends in Siren Wisconsinand went up there yesterday evening… Ive never seen anything like it… I cant imagine a warzone would look that bad…. insane destruction in the path of the F3 tornado that hit there Monday at 8:20 pm… I cant imagine how so few human casulaties resulted…. I have a feeling that wildlife in the area took a BIG hit….. did not see much in the way of birds….. but of course the skeeters survived….. my friends came through with only minor damage, they were just on the edge…. the next yard over destruction was almost total… almost a knife edge line of destruction…. so very strange….. but lots of volunteers are helping clean up the mess….. this town was so beautiful before the storm with its old growth trees everywhere…. now this charm has been destroyed… I can only hope that the rebuiling process will restore much of the beauty and charm……

anyway.. just my 2 cents worth on a shocking disaster….

    Hey River Eyes
just got back from Taylors Falls and had some awsome fishing on the lakes. River was way to high for safe boating up there. Anyway fished Wisconson one day at Balsam Lake what a fisherie. I had great sucess there on about everything but walleyes and pike. Yesterday I was on Sunrise Lake near Lindstrom panfishing and boy did we hammer them we needed fish for a big fish fry and we got it. We were tossing back sunnies about 1/2 to 2/3 pound and keeping 1 of about every 3 or so and still came home with 3 crappie 3 BIG perch and 31 Sunnies I don’t know about you but thats fun even if there just panfish. Any way with the Siren thing what a disaster. Grandmas got friends there lets hope there o.k. what a freak of nature amazing what a few seconds can do. Was up near Brahm when that one dropped luckily going the other way. Lets all keep our hopes and prayers out for those in the path of this storm Brahm, Rush City, Grantsburg and Siren.

actually I LOVE fishing for panfish…. funny Ive not been out on any of the lakes there, either on the Mn or the Wi side…. I know Sunrise is supposed to be good….. how long were your sunnies? and when it comes to eating you cant beat a mess of sunnies…… its just hard to find quality fish these days….. I like them at least 7.5 inches…. but 8.5-9.5 is great……
