Weird Scene on Pool 2

Saturday afternoon, Memorial day weekend. The parking lot at the 494 access was EMPTY. I’ve seen more rigs down there in December when it was 25 degrees and snowing.

The river is headed back up, it’s over the dock in one spot. There’s a lot of wood and junk piled up against the upstream side of the dock and the ramp on that side is pretty much blocked.

Might be the storms in the forecast.

Pool 4 had a Tuna Boat hatch on Friday. Only a few today and those were sucking 10 gallons of diesel a minute to get to cover.

Speaking of weird scenes… I was fishing on p2 yesterday afternoon, and saw the fire department go by in their boat with the lights on. This is the first time I have seen their lights on, so naturally it caught my eye. 15 mintues later, they came back. A couple minutes later I went back to the launch to pick up Gary, and there was a guy and a young boy getting out of the fire department boat. The guy looked soaked and the boy was wearing his life vest. The DNR person at the ramp told Gary that those two left in their own boat, and got a ride back by the fire department.

Anyone here the full story on this?

I saw the fire boat go back into the entrance of Hog lake where a boat was pulled up on the sand. Saw the fire boat leave and then a few min later the runabout boat left. 2 people were in the runabout when they headed back down towards 494.

Didn’t know what the heck was going on.

Could be the weather, the debris, or the consant on guard CO at the ramp.

How has fishing been??? Thinking I might go out tomorrow.

Maybe they all finally figured out that there are no fish in P2. Just a pile of tennis balls and bobbers floating around

I talked with the guy checking boats for invasive species that day and he told me the guy forgot to put his drain plug in and sunk it.
