any safe backwater ice near red wing?

    Ive never fished the sippi before, and would like to try my luck out with some tipups while trying to catch a bluegill or two if theres any safe ice close to home from prescott down to the red wing area. dont really need secret “lunker spots”, just a nice safe-ice area with a little action will suffice for me

    so no backwater ice is safe in this area then?

    Was on the ice in the Wabasha area 10 days ago. Most ice was 4-8 inches….should be growing again now. If you drive further south there are quite a few easily accessible areas to fish on the Nelson dike road…just follow the crowd.

    There is. Lots of springs in that area too. (Red Wing to the lake) Pm me where you want to go and I could get you started without getting you wet hopefully.
