how hot is to hot

    How hot is to hot? I have an onboard charger it gets to hot to touch. I have double checked all leads.

    It is a( Professional Marinar Pro Tounamnet 30 -3) 3 bank charger. any one else have this charger?

    Hey Rob

    All the chargers mounted in the boats I’ve owned did experience some heat build up. How hot is hot? At no time have I ever felt anything that was uncomfortable to the touch. Definitely nothing “melt plastic” hot. Is this something new to that charger or is the charger an older piece of equipement that didn’t exhibit this in the past?

    I bought it from this shady guy they call vandermark alias (walleye) he told me it worked just fine….. wich it dose…

    It just seems to get hot to the touch….I can touch it but i don’t think I could hold my fingure on it for more than a couple seconds.

    Vandy… shady? I’ve always thought of him as shifty… but not shady…LOL

    You had better install a fire detector in that boat cause I here that you have a tendency to throw anchor and sleep..you should have plenty of ventilation for that charger..if it is getting real hot could have a problem..Should get a warranty when you buy stuff…I hope it is alright..

    Seems like Vandy is always on hot fish, hummm. Maybe his livewell is next to the onboard charger which explains the HOT fish! Hummm! Bill
