Anyone been by 494 lately. Looks like a nice stretch of weather coming threw the beginning of next week. Wondering how much ice is floating around on the river. Thanks.

The river is mostly iced up by the 494 bridge. There was some open water south of the bridge this morning, but getting to it would be tough as there is ice out 3/4 of the way accross the channe. We need some warm weather to get the water moving again. Perhaps the upper part of pool 2 might be fishable near the dam.

How far is the MN down stream from 494 ?

The confluence of the Minnesota river and Mississippi is north of downtown St Paul so the MN is actually north of the 494 access or upstream a few miles.

For what it’s worth, there’s a lot of ice around 35E, too.

Thanks for the up dates guys. Maybe with a couple more days of mild weather something will shake loose.

I was wondering the same thing Mike. I went over the Minn. R. at 77 (Cedar Ave.)late this afternoon and it was wide open.
