Just drove by this last night on pool 2. Not sure how long it has been out but looks like a nice fishing hole.

    In Newport.

Ok, where is it? Lyon’s Park? I’d like to check my Navionics map to see what kind of structure is around there. IMO, they should have more removable piers on the rivers.

Just looking at the google map photo I see it still has the old bridge in it. That has been gone for a couple of year now. The pier I would guess is about a mile north of Lion Levee on the same side of the river.

Not sure what parking is like but its a nice gravel bank that looks easy enough to launch a canoe from. Might be a good dock to cat fish off of. 25′ deep out front.

I have been there and it is ok from the fishing side of things. The parking is a little less than desirable. It is just a narrow drive and a person could get stuck in there from another car. You could launch a canoe there easy. And there is parking on the street. My hunch is it is just a narrow strip of land that Newport owns and decided to do something with.

Get some logs drifted into that pier and tie them off and a person could set up a very nice cat fishing hole. Might even get a walleye or two to start hanging under there.
