So after the fishing contest on OCT 1st we are planning a get together in the park at Lion Levee. This will be a bring your own food (Pot Luck) type gathering hopefully featuring some of the best eats you guys have. Wanted to start a post on this so people can list what they are going to bring, what is needed and any other ideas for this. We also want to try to and avoid us all showing up with the same items.

We will be having this get together on the island at the park. There is a foot bridge to this and Im going to try and have a wagon with to help get stuff back and forth from the landing area. The park has a few picnic benches and rustic charcoal grills. Not sure if I would want to cook directly on the grill but it would work well for warming stuff up. Bringing a few lawn chairs would be recommended as picnic table seating is limited.

Other items we may need are.

    Folding table.
    Gas grill.
    Paper plates, plastic utensils.
    Trash can or garbage bags.
    ???

If you could list on this post what you are going to bring or any ideas for this that would be great. With a little for planning I think we should have a pretty good get together.

If you have any questions feel free to pm or contact myself or Joel(drewsdad).

Ill start off with a pot of Calico Beans to bring. For you that dont know this is a mix of many different types of beans with onions, meat and ect in it. Good stuff for a cool fall day.

Ill also plan on bringing a bag of charcoal/lighter fluid for getting the grill going at the park.

Should have a wagon to for help with getting stuff to the island and back.

I think I’ll bring a couple pies. Got a bit of a sweet tooth. One apple and the other will be a mystery….

No i’m not baking em…got a real good bakery a block from my house in NE. Maybe I’ll pick up a couple dozen donuts for the pre-launch too.

If somebody would bring a portable charcoal grill that would be great. There are grills there; but they look to be a bit on the gnarly side. Thanks!

Something like the little weber would be perfect. Im sure how good the park grills are for directly cooking food on. Ill have one bag of charcoal with and lighter fluid.

Im going to pick up a pack of hot dogs and buns to grill. If anyone else has stuff they want to grill bring it with.

I have a little Webber too I will bring, neighbor has a free grill on the curb, I almost grabbed for the event, but then I’d have to get rid of it too, plus im not sure how functionable it is. I have a small propane grill I’ll bring and I’ll think of something to throw on it in quantity. Plus anyone else can use it too. I’ll think about something else to bring also.
