I am new to the area and looking to fish down in the Redwing/Lake City area and want to camp out. Any suggestions on decent campgrounds with good shoreline to pull the boat up onto shore? I checked Frontenac, but that campground sits on a 450′ bluff… not good for parking the boat.. LOL

Any help would be great… THANKS!

    Hey Danger

Try Hok Si La Park. Hwy 61 North about .5 miles from the public landing at Hok Si La. Ph. 651-345-3855

If that doesn’t work out for you, holler back at us and we’ll do some more digging.

    Danger,

If you are into “roughing it” at all you can camp on the islands in the Mississippi. There are not ANY facilities on the islands so you have to be prepared for all situations.

On Pool 4 the better camping islands lie between the foot of Pepin and Alma.
