Harbor View is our favorite restaurant. Great atmosphere and everything is made from scratch. The sauteed chicken breasts in garlic-chipotle sauce and the halibut in caper sauce are their most popular dishes. It gets busy on weekends, but there is a bar there and next door to help pass the time. They don’t take credit cards or reservations, but it is definitely worth the drive and the wait.

It and the Creamery in Downsville, which no longer exists were two very excellent eateries in that neck of the woods!!! Both were around in my college days of the late ’80’s. My wife worked at the Creamery at that time and I, at Jake’s on the north side of Menomonie. I had a friend who worked at the Bolo, even though I know Jakes has reopened, all are really gone in my mind!!!

My fav at Harbor View was/is??? their garlic prawns over linguine (always ask for a finger bowl after peeling the shrimp) and during that time of the year when Champagne grapes were available, my wife would have their free range chicken breast with the white Champagne Sauce!!!! OOOOweeee!!!! Great Wine list too!!!

Gosh, I’m getting hungry thinking about it!!!

My wife still claims that they served her the best meal of her life, and sadly we’ve only had a chance to make it there once. I enjoyed it too.
