Lets see what the river does Jim, If it’s the same as it is now or if the dam is wide open with a ton of water blowing thru…

Id guess that vertical jigging will put the most fish in the boat for you…run depths of 11 feet give or take 5 feet.Look for current breaks for pitching plastics for the bigger females to be hidding in. Wing dams will be holding fish if the flow is reasonable..Presentations are jig and minnow, jig and plastics like the BFT K-grub and Ringworm would be a great start and also cranks should be a good try too…

Good luck on the Birds and fish when your up,

The river crested yesterday at 13.5 feet, and today was down 6/10ths from yesterday(today 4/7/04)and they are saying that the river will be dropping at least a half a foot each day so that puts the gates and rollers back in the water around Friday or Saturday. I’ve even heard Thursday sometime???

Bill Hubbard really has the sweet spot covered over there on the float so if things arn’t quite working out tie up over on his float and pay him a days fee or nights fee and hit that spot. I have seen and heard of some vrey nice catches comming from the float.

Good luck and I hope you come up with your Wings and Walleyes

Dave, where do people tie up to the float? Is it rocky and shallow in the approach? How many boats can tie up? Can you tie up to just get something to eat? Thanks again!

there are a couple of places to tie up. One is the NE corner of the float(I like this spot) then there is the spot just below where the shuttle boat is and then lastly there is the North West corner of the float, but here you’ll have to contend with the fisherman/fisherwomen, as this can be a HOT SPOT for walleyes too…

And YES you can tie up for a bite to eat, hot cup of coffee or even to check out some of Bill’s custom hair jigs he ties.He also has a great selection of k-grubs and ringworms from B_fish_N Tackle

Oops one more thing, It is not shallow at all on the outside of the float or on the upper side but watch yourself on the upper side because there is usually a good current break up there that will throw you around but good at an idle speed and then there are the fisher men and women not to get in the way of on the north side…

    Hey Guys

They put the gates back in the water this morning so the fishing will greatly improve. The float reports better fishing already.See ya next week.
