I will be fishing with a buddy on Pool 10 Sat-Mon, just looking for any tips or strategies for this time of year with just about any species?

Where should we look this time of the year for the walleye and sauger? I had planned on trying to drift some live bait over the wingdams and maybe trolling some cranks? Just not sure where to look for the summertime eyes.

If the eyes are slow, where should we look for some bass or pike action?

    Thanks for any help!

I prefished down there just before the Aim tournament and pulling Dubuque rigs around wingdams and across deep flats was very popular.

Running sloughs are good this time of year and not as bad boat traffic wise.

Well the fishing was about what I figured it would be. Fished around McGregor and Prarie Satrday and caught a nice 15″ eye trolling cranks in a slough right away, then nothing for the next hour or so. Picked up my buddy in Megregor and we fished some around there, caught a few small sauger, bass, and a 10-13lb channel cat.

Saturday I drove up to the New Albin area and loaded into the Upper Iowa and took it down to the Mississippi. Same thing, caught a nice 15″ eye trolling cranks within 5 min of starting, had several other hits, then nothing the rest of the day.

Spent the rest of the weekend floating in a tube on the Upper Iowa river and watching fireworks.
