Pool 8 Landings

    I have never fished in pool eight of the mighty miss and was wondering if or where any public landings are around brownsville? My buddy and i were going to try fishing it on monday. Thanks for any help

    The only one I know of is the landing on Lawrence Lake. I think it costs a few bucks to dock there. I’m sure someone will chime in here with others.

    I thought i herd someone tell me something about a landing at wild cat one time but that was a while ago. we were probabaly going to head up river and try lawernce lake or try the backwaters around the lawerence lake area?

    There is a Wildcat landing just south of Brownsville that is a decent landing. The other option is what was already mentioned and that is the Lawrence Lake Marina.

    DNR MAPS HAVE BOAT RAMPS!

    JUST GOOGLE “state”DNR RIVER MAPS, I think..

    IADNR.COM also has maps, not sure how far north

    they go!

    I would strongly suggest avoiding Lawrence Lake. That whole area is a mess right now with the Root River over it’s banks from the recent rains we have received. You’ll see what I’m talking about…. Put in at Wildcat, and you won’t go wrong, as long as you go EAST.
