It occurred to me today that there are a lot of good people out there that devote a lot of volunteer effort into improving and maintaining the quality of environmental issues that directly or indirectly affect and serve those of us who enjoy the sport of fishing. I am talking about self-funded organizations of men and women who pay their dues and work hard to preserve the great outdoors for them as well as the rest of us. Even though their efforts may be focused on specific areas like Trout, Pheasants or whatever, every one of us benefits from their labor. What do you say to running a thread thanking the various organizations that we see, that are working toward making things better?

Two of such organizations that come to my mind are Trout Unlimited and The Izaak Walton League.

I am currently not a member of any such organizations, but I think it is only right to take a little time and let them know that their work is noticed.

So to the many people of the Izaak Walton League and the other organizations like them:

I have set aside my work, and my fishing, to say Thank you !
