Hoping for a hint. I’m a Wisconsin resident and put in at Prescott frequently. I have a WI fishing license, but not a MN license. Is it worth getting a non-resident license (MN) so I can fish from Prescott up to the damn in Hastings?

Some may disagree and it depends what you’re after, but I say no. If you’re going to buy the MN, buy it to fish pool two, that’s worth it for sure. IMHO of course…

There is a great landing in Prescott. South of the stoplight on 35 take a right at the sign, cross the tracks take the left cuz you have to and it goes right to the launch.

Jeff, if you ever do decide to fish from Prescott up to the dam shoot me a PM first. You can only fish 1 line up there but if in the right place….that’s all you need

Prescott launch is located at the end of front st. Turn between Scabs and the Pharmacy towards the river, cross the railroad tracks and continue until you see the ramps. Passes need to be picked up at City hall before you launch, it’s a 100 dollar fine if they catch you without a sticker and an empty trailer. City hall is located at 800 Borner st, its the same building that houses the Library…I believe it’s 35 for a Wi resident, and 50 for nonresidents

The single day launch fee is up to $13.25 this year at Prescott.

More parking at Hudson, Prescot can get quite crowded, with limited parking.

I would say no. Boat up there and graph it out to see if it peaks your interest.
