Anybody use an electric heat pump to heat an above ground pool?

I’ve used a solar heater in the past and decided to get a heat pump. Electric only not gas. I also want one that’s 110v not 220. What size breaker is needed?
    Current pool is 8000 gallon.

If you have one or know something about them, would appreciate the insight.

110v would be easer to hook up to a standard outlet but 240v will be way more efficient.

Your breaker size is going to depend on what your amp draw/wattage of heater you go with. I would think a 120v heater is gonna be just pissing in the wind and run non stop.

wattage divided by voltage will tell you the amperage you will need for a breaker

They make high wattage aquarium style heaters like this but not sure how effective it would be but they probably put out the same watts as any other 120v “pool heater”

It takes a lot of energy to heat water, and an electric heater will have a hard time even at 240V. We have a 250,000 btu gas heater on our pool and it raises the temp about 1 degree per hour on a 20,000 gallon pool.
