Just curious what everyone is seeing for water levels down on pool 4 right now? Still high, back to normal levels or is it running low now? Thanks

Pretty Normal by the looks of the graph

Normal and saturday fishing was slow for me maybe even stopped if thats a thing.
They had a Vets fishing event would be interesting to know how they did.
Fishing is very slow. Lots of bait in the system right now. River would probably be better than the lake.
The Lake is pretty tough from late July through all of August in a typical year. The bait fish schools are huge and bug hatches have happened on almost all flats by now. The excessive forage coupled with miles of water pushes most anglers to the river areas.
I don’t put in much time out there during August compared to other months (only 5 outings so far). The factors above coupled with me not being a big fan of sitting on wingdams and football responsibilities keep me away until the pleasure boaters are done and the leaves are gone.

Hopefully the pleasure craft will slow after this coming weekend. It gets down right nasty out there on nicer days.
water levels should be right on track for fall fishing. I have not been out in a long time and have done all my adult things prior to labor day so that I can take advantage of this early fall weather. we got robbed this spring and I am hoping we get to fish into November this year. Once the kids get to school and the deer hunters get in the woods, the river is open for business. I LOVE THIS TIME OF YEAR!

Take a vet had almost 40 boats in it this year and had a great group of guys that put the vets on fish. It was not fast and furious action but just about every boat was able to get the vets some fish.
I had the pleasure to be involved and it was a very rewarding experience.

Hats off to you! As much as I would have liked to been part of that my old boat was way to small to commit without knowing weather conditions. I would like to be part of it next year though, I purchased a bit larger craft. I do hope they enjoy catching drum as that is the only fish I would consider myself an expert at catching.
I’m not sure how long it’s been but I saw the top of wing dam #3 sticking out of the water near the dam on Sunday for the first time in a long while!
