Reports from the water since Monday have been great. I don’t know where these fish came from or why they decided to eat and frankly I don’t want to try to figure it out. I will just enjoy the action while it lasts.

Most fish have been caught trolling crankbaits on large sand flats. The real secret to the bite has been to go downstream at 2.5 to 3 mph.

Creek Chubs and Willowcats are starting to produce nice fish. This is a typical post spawn pattern and will just continue to get better the next couple of weeks.

On a side note: White Bass action is hot from Everts Resort to the dam right now. Bring down someone who does not fish very often and get them addicted to fishing with these fish. Bent rods and big smiles will be had.

Crappies and Bluegills are also starting to show up in the backwaters. Size and numbers are both better than average.

Stop down at Banks Four Seasons Sports or Everts Resort for the latest report. Good Luck, Chris

FBRM I do agree. I have had guys in talking about going at ridiculous speeds. I am sure the reason is the fish are just “reacting” to the bait, don’t give them any time to think about it. Most of the boats are not even wasting their time going upstream unless they switch to plastics or live bait on the way up.
