I fished out of Everts today. Water is cold and dirty just into the . trees. The roller gates are open so alot of flow on the Wisconsin side of the Y. A few fish being caught but not many where we were fishing. However, we got a little of everything, couple of suckers, northern pike, small mouth bass, a couple of saugers and a couple of wallyes. Landing was fine at Everts. The wind was really cold.

Thanks for the info. Really looking forward to getting out there. Figured the fishing was slow still way better than working

I would use caution, with high water and fast moving not a good combo.

You are your own person that can make up his own mind, but this is not the time for a newbie to jump into river fishing.

Heck after this Friday I won’t recommend going out to fish for anyone but the most experienced. With flows approaching 80,000 cubic feet per second, things happen fast.

    Good luck if you go.

Correction: Flow will be at 50,000 cfs Friday and 70k on Sunday rising steadily after that. Still not the time to learn the river.

Temps are 34-35 degree and that will give a person about 15 minutes if your lucky.

I believe by the time Bay Port and Colville break up, the City of Red Wing will close them.

    Well that’s true.
I never miss a high water event.
Used to love being on the Minnesota river near Mankato in peak flooding conditions. Hairy… But entertaining every time!

I wouldn’t call you a newbie Andy. LOL!
