Can anyone tell me when the trolling bite on shadraps and such kicks off? James and I believe Joel did a video last spring and I can’t seem to find it. Just trying to judge when I should come to pepin and do a little long line trolling. Any insight to this or the video would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

Late May is usually the start of the good trolling bite on Pepin.

Thanks for the quick response James,Will the early spring and low water level have much effect on the timing of this bite? I just watched the video and you spoke of water temps and levels dropping. I have fished this with you when you were still guiding and we did cast to the willows early in the day but I suspect the water won;t be in the willows unless we get some spring rain. Thanks again.

The timing will still coincide with the arrival of low 60 degree temps. Lower water means the bite will be less intense and the pattern will run its course quicker. Pray for rain. waytogo

Hey James I am assuming with the rain the last week or 2 the water will be up quite a bit and pretty quick, what do you think this will do to the trolling bite this weekend?
