Anyone been to pool 4 lately? Heading Sat for a short day to get the boat out and enjoy a little soft water fishing in January. Any suggestions to shorten the learning curve for the day would be appreciated. Feel free to PM also just curious on colors and if hair jig plastic or blades have been best?

I’ve been banished to the resort all week..since last Friday night.

I’ve counted 3 fishing boats out since then and that was all last Saturday.
I spoke with two of those boats and the report was “slow”.
On 27.5 incher reported along with meals of eater fish.

The weekend prior was pretty good according to the “just off the water” reports.

Pulling denver riggs seemed to be the best producer for a while now.
Pitching the rocks before and after dark.

Just as many fish coming from just below the Y as near the dam area.

And of course there’s always a limit of small fish in the scour hole below 25 fow.

Depending on your preference and presentation, might want to take some Comfort Minnows along. (that’s not a sale pitch)

My best luck by far has been below the y. The outside rollers were open on the damn the last time I was there causing strong currents on the shores and a giant eddy in the middle of the channel. We dropped a camera in the slack water and didn’t see a thing.

Smaller plastics have been working the best for me below the Y. I haven’t gotten anything on blades and I haven’t tried minnows yet so no report there. I’m going tomorrow to experiment with flies.

With the the last two days flow being at the lowest it’s been all year (8750 cfs), there could be fish in places they haven’t been found yet this year.
