I haven’t seen much posted lately on Pool 4, so figured I’d offer my two cents – and that’s about all it’s worth based on my “success”.

Launched out of Bay Point yesterday (10/16) and worked my way up toward the dam/Y. Tried cranks (no luck) and then switched over to jig and minnow. One 19-inch walleye and one 14-inch sauger up shallow. A couple of small catfish. And that’s about it. Water is still high and muddy. Though it appears to have come down a bit in last week or so. Water temp was about 55 degrees.

Good luck and watch for debris in the water (a lot out there), and if you launch early in the morning careful of the fog. Was very foggy Sunday a.m. so be careful.

    Good luck

Yes, VERY foggy yesterday. I was out both days this weekend out of baypoint hunting. Coming back in both days we saw multiple boats up shallow pitching and vertical jigging. Saw a couple people setting into em on our pass by, being we could only go 15mph fully loaded.

Friend of mine was out down by the mouth of the lake still and he said they did pretty good with live bait, but nothing of size. Planning on heading down this weekend possibly. The water is slowly going down, but not very fast.

When the water is like this , get outta the box and fish them like bass, High water, fish shallow with a little current on a break which maybe a tree, even if the water isn’t high in the fall its still a productive pattern, one might have to learn to pitch light jigs and plastics shallow cranks and put up with snags. Have ya ever tried rigging weedless, trial and error will eventually work in your favor Might be worth a shot, just speaking from my life on the river, which really means nothing, lol

    Good tips, Outdraft.

I did try shallow quite a bit. And my buddy was constantly casting shallow with a crank and/or plastic. Still very slow. But I agree it’s generally a good strategy with these conditions.

Really hoping it finally starts to go down a bit and clear up, but sure taking a long time.

Was out there Saturday and Sunday. Saturday I struggled to troll due to the amount of debris in the water but found fish nearly every where I pitched. No hawgs but the water temps are still a touch warm. Sunday I found some good clean water to troll. Caught a bunch of fish and Timmy was even able to bring home a 1 man limit.

Again, no hawgs and the bite by no means was on fire but between the 2 days we faired pretty well and definitely caught fish.

Looking forward to being out there Thursday, Friday and Saturday this week woot

Jesse, any update from Thursday or Friday? Thinking about taking advantage of the lack of wind tomorrow morning.
