Has any one been down there recently. Wondering how busy it’s been and how the fishing is.

No offense but bad timing with the big derby coming up this weekend.
As spoken from the lips of the infamous coffee chuggin/spillin cookie monster:

    “Must be present to win”

With that being said I have heard and seen mixed reports which is common. Some people are catching fish, some people are catching a few fish and others are struggling.

Last night we pulled out at 9pm and there were still 15-20 boats out in 28 deg weather. My guess is the warm weather and sun will be 5x-8x that, maybe more.

Inland season is now closed for walleye so everyone has left the ice.

It’s going to be nuts this weekend starting today.

Bring your boat registration, new fishing license and a lot of patience. Everyone wants to have a good time on the river fishing…don’t be “that guy”. )

The back channel ramp only had about 5 rigs Wednesday evening about 6 pm.

Is that the Runnings store BK?

I was out there today. Only had a few hours so did the typical community spots. Fishing was slow for us and the boats around us. Bunch of boats in the scour hole (usually a sign of slow fishing) but it looked like it was slow there.

We did get a 20.5″ fat female in 9′ of water. Lots of good pike around the lock if you just want some excitement.

I was out there yesterday it wasn’t as bad as I thought. We launched at the backwater, got there at 6 and I was the second truck in the parking lot. As for fishing, very well in the morning for us even though everyone we heard from was opposite. The tournament must have scared a lot of people in the not going cause it wasn’t to busy. Just have to deal with alot of guys who buy these spend rigs and the egos that come with them, from the parking lot to the water. There boat is worth more so they are better then everyone

Thanks for the report BC. This was brought up before and some here were unsure what a Citiot is and you nailed it.

Just curious……is a citiot the opposite of a country bumpkin or hick?

They’re the same DB just different terminology. Kinda like when Ford says the color of their truck is Chestnut and Chevy calls it Harvest Brown. whistling

I am new to the term citiot. To be clear, are you a citiot if you own a nice boat and are a DB, or is the prerequisite to just own a nice boat? FYI: It would be their boat. Glad you had a good morning fishing.

We didn’t run 3 ways….actually decided to leave the 3 ways rods at home but wish I would’ve had them. We had a limit and placed 10th so wasn’t a terrible day. All fish vertical with live bait so I can see how 3 ways would’ve worked.

The other thing I saw is a lot of guys were trying to hide from the wind…. I get it, but we found all our fish in wind and current. Boat control sucked.

We did very well with 3 way rigs and with a vertical presentation. It was equal in my boat for plastics as to live bait. We fished in the wind all day. It was a battle at times. I we had a very wide variety of fish as well. Even pulling in a 14 inch crappie.
