Anyone know of open accesses closer to red wing? Are the only open places still Everts and the public access across from Mr Sippi? Looks like an incredible weather week we’re about to have. Bring on the walleyes!

Anyone know of open accesses closer to red wing? Are the only open places still Everts and the public access across from Mr Sippi? Looks like an incredible weather week we’re about to have. Bring on the walleyes!
They were still driving cars on the Bay Point Access last time I was there a little over a week ago.
i’ll be up there Thursday. is there still a day bite on jigs n minnows?
WI Channel launch is good to go. We launched their sat evening.
Yes Bay Point had ice houses out there as well on 3/10.
Bay point park access was still iced up with people ice fishing it when i was by there thursday. Not sure about colvill but im guessing its not open yet either.
Everetts was packed yesterday Wisconsin channel is open. Red wing there where guys still ice fishing.
Packed?
For the first 50 degree weekend, normally there would have been rigs in the Boat Farms Parking lot.
Colville should be open by this coming weekend with a little help.
When I drove by Colvill yesterday morning, there was quite a bit of ice. When I drove past it yesterday evening, most of the main ice was gone. There still is some, but I expect it to be navigable by today or tomorrow.
Yes it is a public ramp, the city repaved it about 4 or 5yrs ago, before that only small fishing boats or kayaks could launch from it due to the very large pot holes and broken asphalt. Also I wouldn’t worry about the parking signs for cars only this time year, those are in place so the hoyty toyties don’t have to walk as far to get down to their houseboats during the summer months.
Anyone have an update on Bay Point? Is it still locked up with ice?
Well, had to go check for myself. There was still one ice fisherman out at Baypoint. Its gonna be a bit. Also Coville is iced up again. Hopefully warmer temps this week will open that back up.
There were a number of rigs at Colville on Saturday 4/7/18. 15/20 or so.
Is it still just the one ramp at Colville or is the main launch open? Is there a dock accessible? Might be on my own Thursday so a dock would be nice.
I would be curious to know. This was taken last Thursday but not sure if it’s iced back in? Anyone live in town that could check would be much appreciated!
With the temps today and tomorrow, I will bet a quarter it’s open.
There’s always the back channel ramp with it’s two docks as well.
Colville is wide open. But the high bridge will be closed from 10 pm till 6 am today and tomorrow 4/12 and 4/13. Waited over 30 min this am for them to clear the road and it did not open till 645.
From the Red Wing Bridge Project:
“The project team had some trouble during the night and ended up restoring Hwy 61 traffic late this morning – around 6:45 a.m. An excavator went down with a portion of the bridge around 2 a.m. Fortunately no one was hurt. We also had a span that we needed to remove before we could reopen Hwy 61. We were unsure of its safety and stability if we had left it as-is at 6 a.m. This shows why it is so important to detour traffic to keep drivers safe during the removal operations.
We apologize for the inconvenience and hope everyone understands the importance of safety.
We plan to continue our removal operations tonight at 10 p.m. We expect this work to wrap-up Friday morning so overnight traffic can resume its normal route. Thank you again for your patience and understanding. Keeping our workers and the traveling public safe is our primary focus in all operations.”
As of 11 AM 4/12 Colville is wide open and parking lot was 70% full, Baypoint water is still frozen over in bay (no launching but parking lot is clear), and HokSiLa at north side of Lake City is wide open with boats launching this morning. The southern Lake City public ramp is still blocked by Pepin ice (no launching), but parking lot is clear. 2 Barges passed through Pepin today, 1 early around 7 AM and then another around 11 AM. Lake ice in Pepin is gone from head of lake to just south of Dairy Queen Point. From there south, its somewhat broken-up but non-navigational by regular fishing boat to the south yet.
River is otherwise ice free from the south end of Pepin to Winona today.
