An hour ago it was quit aways from the house. Its a goner shortly now the way it looks.

Yeah it lost like 30 plus feet I would say. That’s crazy!! So the media is saying imminent failure. It sure doesn’t look good but anyone think that could possibly hold?

There was a similar event in Oronoco a few years back and the dam there is no more. Replaced with some rock dams that do nothing to hold back flood water or control it. People living on Lake Zumbro anted up a few million bucks to have Lake Zumbro’s problem areas dredged, then this dam goes and filled the lake in again. Every major high water event now is spewing filthy, debris and silt laden water which just continues to fill in the lake. If they’re smart they’ll replace that dam with another.

That is wild! If, or when I guess at this point, that damn fails it will impact everywhere downstream. In Carver/Chaska the bridges are already underwater and we are preparing for potentially the highest river levels ever. Really bad deal.

Dont think hwy 25 bridge in Belle Plaine has ever flooded but one spot looked to have about 5-6 feet to spare this morning.

That’s a cool spot, hope the dam cafe sticks around, also a cool place. Owners were about as nice as could be(we didnt have cash on us but they served us some pie anyways and told us to mail the $ when we had a chance) and had some fun stories to hear. Talks of having that dam come down one day was already being had, guess mother nature said let’s expedite that process. Me and the FG biked down there last summer and was on our list of to get to campspots, they might be a lil washed out for awhile!

Blue earth river had alot bigger fish than I imagined from the pics we saw. Wonder if it gets washed how that might help/hurt spawning areas for sometime w all that sediment immediately released below

Its been interesting navigating around here lately. I live on the East side of the river. I got a nice drive through the back roads coming home from the Cities yesterday and now getting to work in New Ulm is adding a few more miles… Lots of water everywhere!

The boys have practice and umping in town today… will have to do a big circle to Le Sueur or Mankato just to get to town.

169 is closed from Mankato to Le Sueur, just so you know.

thanks Jimmy, I did get that notice. St Peter can’t quite make up their mind on the 2 lane southbound side of 169. Just puts another wrinkle in the “country” route to town.

It sounds like the house just took the dive about 15 minutes ago at the dam.

Don’t follow tournaments at all- can’t ever see myself being in one . Don’t have the pockets or patience to deal with it. Was interesting to see this play out on my home waters. Some recognizable spots , some not so much . Lots of FFS guys . 2 videos very well made . Thought I would share.
