Pool 4 crappies

    My son and I are headed down to pool 4 tommorow. Frontenac to Red wing.

    Can anyone provide me some tips on where they are located this time of year, depth, structure etc.

    We were out Thursday in that area amd got skunked. No idea where they are now.
    Tried a bunch of our fall spots and came up empty. Maybe to warm yet dunno.
    Water temp was still 55.

    We went out today. We got skunked also. Tried rocks, wood, and current seams.

    Time to concentrate on the ducks.

    We pulled a few off wood heading towards backwater areas in about 8′ of water on Friday. I really think those schools that mainly stay in the lake suspend with little relation to shorelines in the Fall and early Winter, making them extremely difficult to find. The backwater fish should continue to heat up, but they generally aren’t the same size structure as those I’ve come across in the lake.
