Heading down to everts tomorrow to fish. What are the conditions down on the river? Water still high with high flow and lots of debris or has it calmed down some? Never made a fall trip down there so should be interesting.
Water seems to have stopped rising in the last day according to the charts, but still up about 2.5 feet from a week ago. Haven’t been down there so I can’t speak to debris or water clarity. However, I may make a trip on Friday and don’t plan on working my typical late fall patterns.
I was out there today for 6 hours and the rollers were up. Blown out best describes it. Caught a sauger in 13fow upstream of the first wingdam below the dam. I saw a well known pool 4 guide make a stop on the Wisconsin side downstream of the sand flats. He spent 10 minutes there at dusk and loaded the boat…I didn’t see a rod bend. I mention that because he wasn’t upstream of everts at any other point while I was there. I don’t think many fish are either.
