Was anyone here out on P4 this weekend? There weren’t many boats out near us today at all. I’m assuming the upper end was a different story.

We were out for just a couple hours today on the lower part of Pepin near the Chippewa and areas just a mile or so North. The current is really cruising through everything at the lower end of the lake. We didn’t have much for expectations on the lower end this early. The head of the lake is probably the spot to be, but with the limited time available that wasn’t an option. We managed x1 – 17″ fish, a couple shorts, and then a couple smallmouth all pulling flicker shads up shallow at about 1.5mph in areas without current and in areas with current just fast enough to make forward progress. The areas we hit really seem to be more productive once water temps are up. We had anywhere from 51-54 degrees where we were today.

Fished the head of the lake last Monday with some decent success. Caught a 26″ and about a half dozen 15-20″ers in a few hours. Will be back out in the same area tomorrow afternoon!

Fished yesterday (5/12) with my son. Launched out of Roschen, and launch was in ok shape, so no issues. Not much boat traffic. I assume it’s far busier upstream around Covill etc.

Pretty slow overall. A couple of nice walleye around 18″, but that was it. Good to finally be out again. Still debris in water, so be careful. Was about 55 water temp for me.

Do they have any sort of docks in there yet or at Hok Si La?

I was out Saturday shooting Eagles with Tim Alms. They were dumping in tuna boats like they were behind schedule (they are).

7 am a raft a fishing boat came past the camper. I was up near the dam and in the Vermillion around 11 and didn’t see many boats at all.

Sunday was totally dead by pool 4 standards. Figured everyone went to the lake or was having KFC with mom.

Dock is in at Roschen. I didn’t get close enough to Hok Si La to tell.
