    Good morning everyone!
I had the opportunity to get out and fish a little recently so I can actually provide a hands on report instead of here say.
I was able to find fish from Lake Pepin all the way to the dam with some pockets of high concentrations. There really was not specific depth or technique that worked best for us. I can tell you several of the spots I fished I did not have another boat within a half mile of me.

As far as #’s a jig and minnow has been the best producer although it seems to be producing a lot of very small fish in between the nice ones. Jig and plastics have been producing better quality bites with bright colors being the most consistent producers. There are guys pulling Dubuque rigs, 3 way rigs with stickbaits and lead core and all of those techniques are producing fish. The only real advice I have is do not be complacent. Keep moving until you find an active pod of fish and then zero in on them quickly. The bite windows seem to be short but furious when they turn on.

Good luck to you all when you get out and please consider releasing any fish full of spawn and over 20″. Thank You, Chris

By the way: We will have a large order of Rainbows coming in on Friday (Tomorrow). Pretty much Walleye candy!

Chris, will I have any issues launching by myself on Saturday afternoon? I’m comfortable on P2 by myself but never been on P4 solo. I know the launch gets a little crazy so I worry about getting in and out in a timely manner.

How is the flow and debris in the water? Anything to be very concerned about?

The flow is not high at all and the river is basically debris free. You should be fine.

With the stable water levels and lack of run off. i assume the water clarity is pretty good. Are the reports favoring low light times then? How is the midday bite? i assume saugers are going but how about shallower walleye tactics midday?

    thanks
