Haven’t seen many Pool 4 reports lately – despite the LARGE number of boats out, so figured I’d throw out my two cents.
Buddy and I fished afternoon of 3/11, launching out of Everts (great improvements to the bait shop). Tried from dam all the way down to Bay Point. Different depths. All colors. Jig and plastic and jig and minnow. One small sauger, one 14.5 walleye. Lots of boats, didn’t see much catching unless you counted tiny fish. But it was sure nice to be on the water in great weather.
Buddy and I fished all day yesterday (3/13). Launched out of Bay Point this time. Fished from dam down past can line. Pretty much the same result, though did catch 2 15″ sauger. Jig/minnow. Very slow overall. Saw a couple more boats catch a fish here and there but nothing on fire from my observation.
Launches were all open (no dock at Bay Point), so that was good to see.
I’m sure some guys were able to find em. I just was not one of those guys – though at least a couple sauger made it fun yesterday.
mostly 43 to 44 degree water temp from what I saw
Be careful if you are out. There is the occasional floating log etc.
Good luck and tight lines
