    Fished Saturday and Sunday. Wow.

To say it was glorious being on the water in such great weather is an understatement. What a gift!

Heck, I even swatted a mosquito or two!

Launched out of Bay Point both days. Had decent luck. I still don’t think they’re spread out much yet, but if/when you find em, they’re ready to eat. Mostly tried jig and minnow. Tried blade bait for awhile but I must not have that dialed in; no luck on that.

I will say I lost far more fish than I caught. Light bite seemed like. I tried short shank jigs etc., but was still pulling jig up with just the head still on. Frustrating. But was so nice out didn’t care.

The usual spots have lots of boats on them. Yesterday a boat full of Illinois guy joked if we all wanted to hug everyone was so close.

If the photo attaches correctly, I’m including a bent sauger I caught Sunday. Sure surprised me.

I did some research and sound like this topic has been covered before on IDO, but figured I’d still share.

    Good luck.

We fished from the head of the lake to the dam. Picked up fish pitching the shallows mostly. Did get one walleye on a jigging rap while most other fish hit plastics and hair. Nothing over 20″inches unfortunately. Fish were very scattered. Caught some nice crappies, bass, and one monster sheepshead as well. Looked like the prime spring time areas were producing best for people live bait rigging and jigging.

Is there at all a night bite going? Im unable to make it out during the days so figured I could give it a shot in the dark.

I was out on Friday. Had pretty good results. I will say I also missed many fish. Probably lost 4-5 fish. Had to let them really chew on the minnow.

I was out today. Wow,…hardly anyone out with the voting going on today. I will definitely continue to vote early and target election day for fishing in the future. When you found the fish, they cooperated. We did well with orange jigs. Mostly nice sized sauger.
