Managed to fish Saturday with a buddy. We did ok. Caught about 8 or 9 sauger/walleye keepers, and quite a few shorts. And quite a few white bass, and a couple of annoying dogfish/bowfin (man, those are some ugly fish. No offense to the dogfish fans).

We fished from Red Wing to the dam area. No one spot better than another. Best luck in 12 to 16 feet. Current seams when possible. Haven’t heard how guys are doing downstream toward Colville etc., but seemed like quite a few boats headed that way, too.

    Jig and minnow

Didn’t overwork the jig; relatively slow presentation overall. I wouldn’t say they “smacked” it. A lot of the bites were almost like a crappie bite. So you definitely had to be paying attention and react quickly.

    Water temp about 41 degrees

Got another week or so before I do my annual cry and store the boat. Looking even colder in the coming days. Good luck if you head out.

Got another week or so before I do my annual cry and store the boat.

Did most of mine last week, just need to take out the rods and other fishing utensils.

Don’t think when I see a boat slipping down the seam near the high bridge my mind jumps from task at hand to wondering if I should go out on more time… then the wind hits me in the face and I’m back stocking up the camper with spam.

I hope to get out in a few weeks when it’s really nice and cold. coffee

    Thanks for the report!

We fished the dam area on Nov 5th and 6th. Sunday the 5th was crazy good as we put 18 fish in the box between 18-22″. Monday was a bit slower but we did find some nice crappies to go along with the walleyes/saugers. It was a bit brisk on Monday morning.

Heading down tomorrow am and will post a report afterwards. Probably stick with live bait on rigs or jigs. Anyone down there today? Anything on plastics?

I fished pool4 today. The bite was steady once we found them. Everything came on jigs and chartreuse paddletail plastics. No bites on live bait. All saugers today.

That’s what I heard also. Current seems seemed to be necessary

Decent bite but took awhile to find them. Caught mostly saugers but enough for a couple of limits.

Caught ours on jig and minnow, plastics, Dubuque’s, Miller rigs. Pretty good plastics bite when you got on the fish.

Move around until you mark fish and then work current seams.
