Not much to report but figured I’d give a brief update.

Based on some tidbits online (BK says it’s true, so it must be, right?), I headed for the dam area on Saturday to try my luck. Pretty slow at the dam area. Quite a few boats but I didn’t see many guys catch any and if they did they appeared to be small. Tried a few more areas down river and was pretty much a bust other than another couple small sauger. Talked to one guy at the launch and they’d caught one ok walleye saturday, and 4 on Friday (but down river more).

Water temp was about 60 degrees. Water is still relatively muddy, too.

    Good luck guys.

Water clarity is 35cm or 13.77. 3″ better then last weekend.

I didn’t say everyone was catching fish. )

Pool 4 has it’s reputation. If a person can’t catch a limit in a couple hours the bite is poor.

It’s a poor bite on Pool 4 right now.

I had the camera out for a bit on Sunday. The fish are there.

I think I’m a level or two below poor. But if you say your magic camera shows fish, I cannot disagree. Hah!

Shockers,if would rather pm me thats fine, but may I ask what method you were trying ?

I was out and found fish in most areas I was at, we fished from the high bridge to the dam on Saturday and Sunday only kept 6 keepers tho and alot of smalls ones but in which included my 24 ” walleye(released ).Several of our Saugers were border line keepers for me (13″-14″skinny)

I pulled Denver rigs, pitched hair jigs, jig n plastics, jig n minnow.I did notice when using jigs of any kind that “less was more”,sometime when I would lift the jig the Sauger/walleye was just there. So the bite for me wasn’t aggressive, the water temped still showed 63 for me in the afternoon, which I believe is too warm for a good fall bite.

Jig and minnow mostly. Also pulled cranks for about an hour with not much luck.

If I’d remembered my Denver rig set up, I would have tried that. But alas.

The key for me was ..once jig hit the bottom to move slooow !

That’s what the guys said that where anchor. Cast and a slow retrieve, stop and slow retrieve.
